ADM Rakesh Verma inspected the derailment site of the Sabarmati Express, train number 19168, traveling from Varanasi to Ahmedabad, near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh early Saturday morning. According to Verma, 22 bogies derailed but no injuries were reported.

"The passengers are being transported back to the station by bus. Fortunately, there are no casualties," Verma told ANI. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that the engine struck an object on the track, leading to the derailment.

Vaishnaw added that investigation teams, including IB and UP police, are on the scene. Indian Railways dispatched an 8-coach MEMU rake at 5:21 AM to facilitate the passenger movement to Kanpur. The passengers continued their journey to Ahmedabad on a relief train. Evidence is being examined, but initial reports indicate no fracture in the railway track.
