The Delhi High Court on Monday disposed of a petition against AAP legal cell president Sanjeev Nasiar, confirming the genuineness of his law degree. The case was brought forward by Naresh Chandra Gupta, former president of the Delhi Bar Association, alleging that the law degrees of Nasiar and another advocate, Dilip Kumar Rana, were counterfeit.

Justice Sachin Datta ruled against the allegations regarding Nasiar's degree, citing a verification report from the concerned university, which declared the degree as authentic. The court has also urged expedited verification of Rana's degree. In the judgment dated August 12, Justice Datta stated, "There is no basis for the assertion that Nasiar's degree is forged and fabricated."

The university, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya of Indore, confirmed the authenticity of Nasiar's provisional and final degrees. The High Court had directed the Secretary of the Bar Council of India to coordinate the verification through a High-Powered Committee, initially constituted by the Supreme Court. The petition premised on the alleged falsification of Nasiar's and Rana's documents remains under scrutiny by the committee.
