In a heart-wrenching incident during the Nag Panchami celebrations, three minor sisters from Tamara village in Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh, tragically drowned in an under-construction septic tank filled with rainwater.

The victims, identified as six-year-old Janhavi Rajak, seven-year-old Tanvi, and nine-year-old Suhani, had ventured out on Friday evening to immerse clay idols in a waterbody, per tradition. Unfortunately, they slipped into a nearby rainwater-filled pit designated for a new septic tank and were unable to escape.

Local villagers arrived at the scene quickly upon learning of the mishap and pulled the sisters from the water. Regrettably, they found the minors had already deceased by that time, according to Govindgarh police station in-charge, Shiva Agrawal.
