Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Rachna Reddy has termed the statements made by Congress leader Salman Khurshid as 'irresponsible', 'immature', and 'deliberately dangerous'. Khurshid allegedly suggested that violent protests similar to those in Bangladesh could take place in India.
'Salman Khurshid's statements are not only irresponsible but dangerous. He should remember he is also a senior counsel,' said Reddy, further criticizing Khurshid for implying that violence could erupt in India, including in Kashmir, despite apparent normalcy.
Meanwhile, Khurshid refused to escalate the controversy, stating he stands by his public comments. BJP leaders, including Shehzad Poonawalla and Sambit Patra, condemned his remarks, describing them as an attempt to incite unrest. Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi called for continuous dialogue between the Ministry of External Affairs and opposition leaders.
