On Saturday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reviewed ongoing highway construction projects while traveling from Mysuru to the Shiradi Ghat landslide site. During the journey, he gathered updates from officials on various projects.
As Siddaramaiah's vehicle neared Bilikere Cross, he received a briefing about a proposed 41 km four-lane National Highway project between Bilikere Cross and Yadagondanahalli. Officials noted that tenders have been called for the Rs 600 crore project. Concerned about road safety, the Chief Minister instructed officials to cover the potholes along the route and repair hazardous wiring and damaged road dividers when the weather permits.
Despite being his birthday, Siddaramaiah declined celebratory gestures from admirers along the route, stating he does not celebrate his birthday. Earlier, he announced via social media that Karnataka would construct 100 houses for landslide victims in Wayanad, Kerala, emphasizing solidarity and support for the affected families.
