West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has extended support to the people affected by the recent landslides in Kerala, donating his one-month salary to the relief efforts in the Wayanad district. The announcement was made via Raj Bhavan Media Cell's social media handle on X.

The governor toured the disaster-stricken areas, including relief camps, hospitals, and mortuaries. He interacted with victims and their families, and coordinated with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Army, and other agencies involved in rescue operations. Local officials briefed the governor on the situation, seeking his advice on various matters. Bose assured them he would convey their requests to the Prime Minister and Home Minister.

Bose has been in close coordination with the central minister, George Kurian, and has actively participated in managing various disasters in West Bengal, such as floods, landslides, and a train accident. In a statement, he urged people to maintain a balance between man and nature, stating that the tragedy calls for introspection. Rescue operations continue as the death toll has reached 167, with 219 injured and many still hospitalized.
