The Ministry of Education on Monday marked the fourth anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 with the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2024, held at New Delhi's Manekshaw Centre Auditorium. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other dignitaries launched numerous NEP initiatives, including dedicated TV channels for various Indian languages, a Tamil Channel, primers for early graders in 25 languages, and guidelines for 10 'bagless' days to make school a stress-free experience.

Significant introductions included career guidance guidelines featuring a vast library of over 500 job cards, the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM), and National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST) in Braille and Audio Books. The event also saw the unveiling of a School Innovation Marathon and a publication on Graduation Attributes and Professional Competencies.

Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized NEP 2020's role in leading a transformative shift in India's education system, fostering a new generation of learners. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for driving the vision forward, underscoring NEP's potential to turn India into a 21st-century knowledge economy. Pradhan praised a musical performance by Kendriya Vidyalaya students, while Jayant Chaudhary stressed teachers' vital role in nation-building. The emphasis was placed on the importance of collective state participation to realize NEP's benefits.

Minister of State for Education Dr Sukanta Majumdar also highlighted the policy's blend of traditional knowledge with modernity and the role of value education in nation-building. He reflected on the occasion's, "Vikas bhi Virasat bhi," spirit, reinforcing the dialogue among stakeholders across the education sector.
