Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday unveiled 'Mumbai Samachar: 200 Not Out,' a documentary that chronicles the 200-year saga of Asia's oldest newspaper.

Entering its 203rd year, Mumbai Samachar has cemented its place as an iconic publication integral to Mumbai's identity. The film explores the newspaper's pivotal role in the freedom movement, its steadfast commitment to unbiased journalism, and the factors behind its enduring success.

Hormusji N. Cama, managing director of Mumbai Samachar, attended the event, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously launched the documentary's trailer during the paper's bicentenary celebration in June 2022. The documentary was released in 40 countries, providing a significant historical perspective for both the newspaper and the industry at large.
