The Old Students Association (OSA) of Hindu College hosted its prestigious 19th OSA Hindu College Distinguished Alumni Awards 2024 on Sunday, celebrating the outstanding achievements of its alumni in various fields. The event featured Honourable Justice Manmohan, Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu as chief guests.

Renowned filmmaker Imtiaz Ali attended as the Guest of Honour. The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon Justice Ravindra S. Bhat, a retired judge of the Supreme Court of India.

The ceremony honored multiple alumni: Justice Mini Pushkarna and Justice Rajesh Shankar for Excellence in Judiciary; J.P. Singh for Excellence in Legal Affairs; J.N. Swain (IAS Retd.) for Excellence in Civil Service; Rajiv Singh (IPS), DGP Manipur, for Excellence in Security Affairs; Anil Saxena (IIS Retd.) for Excellence in Media; Arun Seth for Excellence in the Corporate Sector; Air Marshal Rajeev Sachdeva for Excellence in the Armed Forces; Mrs. Pankaj Mittal for Excellence in Academics; Mr. Vijay Kohli for Excellence in Medical/Surgery; Padamjeet Sherawat for Excellence in Sports & Entertainment and Sudip Banerji for Excellence in Music. Ravi Burman, President of OSA Hindu College, highlighted the enduring contributions of alumni to nation-building and their role as exemplary figures for current students.

The event also saw Nikhil Budhraja receive the Young Achievers Award for Music and Aaliya Waziri for Literary Work. Additionally, Vikram Misri was recognized for his appointment as Foreign Secretary of India. Imtiaz Ali was honored for his film "Amar Singh Chamkila," while Pema Khandu was acknowledged for being re-elected as Chief Minister for the third consecutive term. Justice Manmohan was felicitated for his new role as Chief Justice of Delhi High Court.

Burman praised the OSA's efforts in fostering relationships between alumni and current students, and discussed the ongoing project to restore the Old Hindu College Campus Building at Kashmere Gate, intending to create a memorial there with the help of Heritage Architects already at work on the site.
