District Court Lawyer Abducted and Killed for Opposing Bail Pleas

In a shocking incident in Kasganj, a 40-year-old woman lawyer named Mohini Tomar was abducted and killed for opposing the bail pleas of an advocate's sons, according to police reports on Tuesday. Mohini was reported missing from the district court on September 3, and her body was found the following day in Rekhpur minor canal.

Police have arrested Advocate Mustafa Kamil, his three sons—Haider, Salman, and Asad Mustafa—and two associates, Munazir Rafi and Keshav Mishra. An FIR has been filed at the Kasganj police station under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 103, 140(1), and 62(1), which address charges of murder, abduction, and criminal conspiracy.

Brijendra Tomar, Mohini's husband, stated in the FIR that his wife had been receiving threats from Kamil and his sons for opposing their bail pleas in previous cases. The incident has led to widespread protests from the legal community, who are demanding justice and Rs 1 crore compensation for the victim's family.
