Police have arrested Advocate Mustafa Kamil, his three sons—Haider, Salman, and Asad Mustafa—and two associates, Munazir Rafi and Keshav Mishra. An FIR has been filed at the Kasganj police station under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 103, 140(1), and 62(1), which address charges of murder, abduction, and criminal conspiracy.

Brijendra Tomar, Mohini's husband, stated in the FIR that his wife had been receiving threats from Kamil and his sons for opposing their bail pleas in previous cases.
