Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday underscored that self-reliance has been the vital strength and defining trait of Indian villages. Despite enduring thousands of years of subjugation, Indian society has managed to preserve its cultural forms and values through village self-reliance, Yadav stated during a three-day workshop inaugurated by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department at the Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Centre (Minto Hall) in Bhopal.

Yadav highlighted the workshop's theme, 'Atma Nirbhar Panchayat-Samriddh Madhya Pradesh,' as instrumental in bolstering economically robust and development-oriented Panchayats and villages. Indian villages stand as prime examples of disciplined and value-based living, he noted, further attributing enhancements in rural life to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives aimed at reinforcing village self-reliance, thereby fostering numerous opportunities for progression.

The Chief Minister pointed to PM Modi's Jal Jeevan Mission, aimed at providing tap water to every household, and efforts to ensure irrigation water for every farm under local conditions. He praised the Narmada Valley development and Ken-Betwa Link Project for their contributions. Highlighting economic empowerment from increased irrigated areas, Yadav also announced state government funds for animal husbandry, emphasizing the development of cow sheds, subsidies, and new policies to promote cow rearing.

Madhya Pradesh, rich in natural beauty and Ayurvedic resources, will develop Ayurvedic centers and markets for products from small industries and self-help groups. Yadav affirmed that connecting farmers, women, youth, and the poor to these initiatives aligns with PM Modi's vision, aiming to make Panchayats self-sufficient and prosperous. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel added that the workshop will be pivotal in strengthening the Panchayat Raj system.
