Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled a new book titled 'The Collector's Mother,' authored by Bishnupada Sethi, IAS, at a ceremony held at Lokseva Bhawan on Monday.
The publication, released by M/s BluOne Ink, New Delhi, depicts the compelling true story of an underprivileged woman from a remote Odisha village who inspired her son to join the prestigious Indian Administrative Service despite insurmountable obstacles.
Born in a pre-independence era plagued by caste discrimination and socio-economic challenges, she confronted numerous life-threatening situations. Despite the torment and adversity, she safeguarded her family and never lost hope. Her persistent faith in God and undeterred courage saw her son's realization of her dream as he graduated from the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in 1995. The book promises to inspire students aiming for higher goals, regardless of the odds they face.
