Central Government Allocates Over Rs 63,000 Crore to Andhra Pradesh Under CSS
The central government has disbursed over Rs 63,000 crore to Andhra Pradesh from 2019-20 to 2023-24 under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS). Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary elaborated on the allocation process in the Lok Sabha, highlighting the importance of submission of utilization certificates and addressing corruption allegations under the previous YSR Congress regime.

Over Rs 63,000 crore has been released by the central government to Andhra Pradesh in the last five years under various centrally sponsored schemes, the Lok Sabha was informed on Monday.
Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary disclosed that the Ministry of Finance allocates funds through the budgetary process to different ministries and departments, which then distribute the central share of CSS funds to state governments based on scheme guidelines and utilization certificates as per General Financial Rules (GFRs).
Chaudhary detailed the funds allocated to Andhra Pradesh from 2019-20 to 2023-24 and addressed consolidated information on the state's matching share, maintained in the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) since 2020-21. He also responded to corruption allegations connected to the previous YSR Congress government, noting that any specific information received would be investigated by the central government.
