Following the protest by the INDIA bloc against the alleged law and order failure in Bihar, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha criticized the opposition, suggesting a disconnect between their rhetoric and actions. This protest emerged after the recent murder of Jitan Sahni, father of Vikasheel Insaan Party founder Mukesh Sahni.

'We had already said that if the opposition is serious about law and order, then they should take a pledge and declare that they will not give tickets to any criminal, will not send any extremists to the House, and will not make the liquor mafia or sand mafia as candidates. There is no similarity between their words and actions,' Sinha stated on Saturday. 'I have openly said that the BJP does not give preference to criminals or the mafia anywhere. If anyone can teach a lesson to the criminals, then it is the NDA alliance, the BJP,' Sinha added.

Reacting to the INDIA bloc's protest, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad asserted the situation in Bihar has improved. 'They have the right to hold protests, but before that, the RJD should look into themselves. Earlier, there used to be kidnappings in daylight in Patna, under their regime. The situation has got better. Nitish Kumar's government is addressing this,' Prasad stated.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary noted the law and order collapse under Lalu Prasad Yadav's government, contrasting it with the current normalcy. 'Law and order collapsed under Lalu Prasad Yadav's government in Bihar. He should first give an account of the injustice done to the people of Bihar for 15 years,' Chaudhary told reporters.

On July 17, INDIA bloc leaders convened to discuss the recent law and order incidents, planning demonstrations at all district headquarters on July 20. Earlier, VIP chief Mukesh Sahani's father, Jitan Sahani, was killed at his residence in Darbhanga, sparking political uproar and opposition criticisms of the Nitish Kumar government for an alleged breakdown in law and order.
