Jamia Millia Islamia Officiating Vice-Chancellor Shakeel Ahmed announced on Tuesday that the results for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) are expected by late July or the first week of August. Although admissions will be slightly delayed, there will be no impact on the academic or semester calendar.

The CUET-UG results, initially slated for June 30 as per the NTA's information bulletin, have been postponed. On Thursday, the vice-chancellor convened a meeting with deans from all schools to address the delay in releasing the results.

CUET scores are utilized for admissions into 15 undergraduate courses and five master's programs at the university. Partial reliance on these scores extends to 15 out of 50 undergraduate courses and five out of 86 master's programs.

Ahmed revealed that the university held discussions with deans and reached definitive conclusions regarding CUET. In recent years, the admission process has faced delays, but hopes are high for a retest. Despite the minor admission delay, the academic or semester calendar will not be adversely impacted.

On Sunday, the NTA announced a re-test for over 1,000 CUET UG candidates following several complaints. The retest is scheduled for July 19 due to issues such as incorrect question papers. As a result, the first-year semester for many universities, including Delhi University (DU) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), might also be postponed.

The NTA is currently dealing with paper leak allegations concerning NEET-UG and UGC-NET, which has contributed to the delay in CUET-UG results. The CUET-UG serves as the main admission test for 46 Central universities, with this year's exam held between May 15 and May 31 in both online and pen-and-paper formats.

The delay is impacting the admission schedules of all participating institutions. As lakhs of students and 261 universities, including Allahabad University and Banaras Hindu University (BHU), await the CUET-UG 2024 results, UGC Chief M. Jagadesh Kumar assured that the NTA is diligently working to finalize the results.

Kumar explained that after the draft key challenge period, experts review concerns to finalize the key, a process typically taking one to two weeks. He emphasized NTA's commitment to announcing the results promptly.
