The Slovak economy ministry confirmed that supplies were disrupted despite reports from Transpetrol. Slovnaft has secured an alternative supplier, and discussions with Ukrainian partners are ongoing.
Oil deliveries from Russia's Lukoil have stopped flowing to Slovakia via Ukraine following the company's inclusion on a Ukrainian sanctions list, Slovakia's economy ministry said on Thursday.
According to data from Slovak oil transporter Transpetrol, deliveries of Russian oil to Slovakia were not stopped. However, the problem lies with the specific supplier, Lukoil, the ministry explained.
The ministry added that Slovnaft, the Slovak refiner, had secured supplies from another supplier and that discussions with Ukrainian partners are ongoing to resolve the issue.
