Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday announced that his government provided Rs 15,000 crore in compensation to farmers affected by adverse weather conditions over the last two years.

Speaking at an event, Shinde mentioned his preference for helicopter travel to his village in Satara district, highlighting that it saves time which he utilizes to address more public issues.

He emphasized his government's commitment by relaxing norms to ensure maximum compensation for farmers hit by weather adversities and noted that Rs 44,000 crore has been spent on various farmers' schemes.
