Yuri on Ice Season 2 may start after Ice Adolescence, Film to be series’ prequel
Fans have been passionately waiting for Yuri on Ice Season 2 since the completion of Season 1 in December 2016. The Japanese sports anime TV series mainly about gay ice-skating anime so far has no update on the second season as MAPPA studio is absolutely tight-lipped on disclosing its plan whether there will be another season or total discontinuation.
Many speculated that Yuri on Ice Season 2 would be released anytime, mainly during the end phase of 2018. And since this never happened and there is not a pinch of update from the studio, director, creator and producer, fans have started speculating that the series will never return on screen. But since in the previous season’s episode 12 fans got a hint that Yuri Katsuki’s tale is far away from getting completed, there is still a ray of hope that the second season is going to happen.
However, just because the making of a movie adaptation earlier popped up, the company is undeniably busy working on it. Hence, we believe that it again may take some more time to throw a new update on Yuri on Ice Season 2. It is also possible that they will wait to get the movie completed before working on the second season of anime TV series.
In the previous trailer released last year for anime movie adaption titled Yuri!!! on Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence (anytime can be released, rumored to be in June 2019), fans are likely to enjoy the growing romance between the gay characters Yuri and Victor. It is also assumed from the trailer that the movie would be a prequel to the series. Victor is visible having short hair at the present and long hair during his teen years. Whereas, the poster released for the movie gives a glimpse of his back in which we believe he has tucked his long hair into a scarf. However, again this all are the predictions based on the trailer and poster, hence you should take these with a grain of salt.
