In a recent development, a lawyer from Chhattisgarh, identified as Faizan Khan, has been placed in police custody for allegedly making threats against Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan. The arrest was based on a threat call demanding Rs 50 lakh, traced back to him, though Khan maintains his phone was stolen.
Mumbai police, after arresting Khan in Chhattisgarh's capital Raipur, secured a transit remand to bring him to Mumbai for further proceedings. Khan's legal representatives argue the threat call is part of a conspiracy against him, citing a previous complaint he lodged against the actor over an objectionable movie dialogue.
The court has extended Faizan Khan's custody till November 18 for thorough investigation into the matter. The incident comes amid a series of threats against celebrated actors, linking back to criminal elements reportedly targeting the film industry.
