The suspect, Khetrabasi Mallick, entered the temple in Haladipatana village, causing damage and seizing a 'trishul' with which he assaulted worshippers.
Three individuals sustained minor injuries. The incident, captured on a video that has since gained traction on social media, ended with locals detaining Mallick. Police have charged him under various legal sections, including those related to public obscenity, criminal trespassing, and inciting religious enmity.
