A motorcycle expedition organized by the Indian Army kicked off from Mipi in the Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, officials reported on Saturday. This endeavor aims to honor the soldiers of the 1962 Sino-Indian conflict, particularly commemorating the Battle of Walong.
The expedition, which was launched by Major General VS Deshpande of the Dao Division, includes ten army personnel from the Spear Corps and ten civilians. It will traverse through significant areas like the Lower Dibang Valley and Anjaw district, set to culminate at the Walong War Memorial on November 11.
The route reflects the historic path of defense against Chinese advances in 1962 and underscores efforts to promote adventure tourism and national unity. The month-long memorial events commenced on October 17, highlighting the enduring spirit of Indian resilience and remembrance.
