Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami engaged in the Open Run for Unity Cross Country race at the Pavilion Ground, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31.
Dhami emphasized Patel's pivotal role in India's freedom struggle and post-independence integration of princely states. Calling Patel a symbol of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,' he highlighted the former leader's dedication to national unity and integrity.
Due to Diwali's overlap with this year's event, the race was held on October 29, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced in his 'Mann Ki Baat' address. Patel's efforts in uniting over 560 princely states were crucial in forging a strong, unified India.
