M Mukesh, a CPI(M) MLA and famous actor, has been apprehended by a Special Investigation Team linked to a 2010 sexual assault allegation in Thrissur, Kerala.
His lawyer announced that the MLA was arrested on Monday. He underwent a medical examination and potency test before being released, as he was granted anticipatory bail by a sessions court on September 24.
Amid a tide of sexual harassment allegations targeting high-profile figures in the Malayalam film industry, highlighted by the Justice K Hema Committee report, the Kerala government initiated an investigation through a specialized team comprising seven members.
