World No. 1 Norwegian Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen will headline the sixth edition of Tata Steel Chess India, scheduled from November 13 to 17. This marks Carlsen's second appearance at this prestigious event, having previously clinched the title in 2019.

The tournament will feature a strong Indian contingent inspired by their recent success at the Chess Olympiad in Budapest. Among the Indian players are Arjun Erigaisi, R Praggnanandhaa, and Vidit Gujrathi, who will compete in the 'Open' category along with talented counterparts Nihal Sarin and S L Narayanan.

In the women's section, India will be represented by stars like Koneru Humpy and R Vaishali. Chess legend Viswanathan Anand, serving as the tournament ambassador, emphasized the event's importance as a celebration of Indian chess. With Carlsen and other global players participating, the tournament promises high excitement and competition.
