NCC Cadets Embark on Historic Sailing Expedition Along Ganga and Hooghly
Over 500 NCC cadets from India will participate in a unique sailing expedition covering 1,200 km across the Ganga and Hooghly rivers. The event aims to celebrate India's maritime heritage, promote youth involvement in national service, and raise awareness about environmental conservation.

In an unprecedented initiative, over 500 cadets of the NCC are set to embark on a historic sailing expedition. The expedition, 'Bharatiya Nadiya - Sanskritiyon ki Janani', will cover nearly 1,200 km across the Ganga and Hooghly rivers, crossing three states of India.
The Defence Ministry announced that this special event, considered a flagship for the upcoming Republic Day Camp 2025, will start in Kanpur and conclude in Kolkata on December 20. As part of the expedition, cadets will engage in cultural performances and environmental conservation activities.
The journey aims to inspire youth by showcasing India's rich maritime tradition while also contributing to national initiatives such as 'Swachh Bharat'. Cadets from various state directorates will participate, highlighting the NCC's role in fostering unity and a spirit of adventure.
