In a shocking incident in Belda village, authorities on Thursday arrested a couple accused of sacrificing their one-month-old daughter, under the advice of an exorcist, to cure the mother's prolonged illness.

The disturbing event came to light when neighbors reported the child's disappearance to the police. According to Additional Superintendent of Police, (Rural) Aditya Bansal, the parents, Mamta and Gopal Kashyap, confessed to the crime during interrogation, stating they hid the body in a jungle.

Law enforcement is actively working to retrieve the child's remains and apprehend Harendra, the exorcist said to be responsible for the couple's gruesome decision. Investigations are ongoing as the community grapples with this tragic event.
