Indore Aims to Become World's First Energy Literate City

Indore is set to make history as it launches a campaign on December 1 to become the world's first energy literate city, officials have announced.
As part of the 'Indore Climate Mission', the city, known as India's cleanest, will engage its 3.5 million residents in efforts to curb carbon emissions by changing daily habits. The initiative is a collaboration between the Indore Municipal Corporation and the NGO 'Energy Swaraj Foundation'.
Over 100 days, residents will receive training aimed at reducing emissions, with a goal of cutting electricity use by 7-10%. 'Our mission is to secure Indore's identity as the first energy literate city globally,' stated Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava. The campaign is spearheaded by Professor Chetan Singh Solanki, also known as the 'Solar Man of India'.
