Oasis Reunion Sparks Entertainment Spending Surge in UK

British shoppers slightly increased their annual spending in September, largely driven by high demand for Oasis concert tickets, according to a survey released on Tuesday.

Barclays reported that discretionary spending saw a notable rise last month, with entertainment spending jumping by 14.4%, the largest increase since July when Taylor Swift's UK tour tickets went on sale.

The British Retail Consortium also noted an increase in non-essential spending, despite ongoing concerns over impending tax hikes and rising household energy bills under finance minister Rachel Reeves' upcoming budget.
