A four-hour ritual called Shanti Homam Panchagavya Prokshana is currently underway at Tirumala temple, according to temple sources.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) confirmed to PTI that the ritual started at 6 am and will conclude at 10 am. The ceremony seeks to appease Lord Venkateswara Swamy following alleged sacrilegious activities, including the use of animal fats in making Tirupati laddus.

On Sunday, TTD executive officer J Shyamala Rao stated that the rituals aim to nullify the adverse effects and restore the sanctity of laddu prasadams, ensuring the welfare of Srivari devotees.
