A devastating shooting occurred in Birmingham, Alabama's bustling Five Points South nightlife area, leaving four people dead, police reported.
Multiple individuals were shot on 20th Street near Magnolia Avenue on Saturday night, leading to a swift response by Birmingham Police officers. Upon arrival, officers discovered three victims – two men and a woman – dead at the scene. A fourth victim later succumbed to injuries at a hospital, as reported by WBMA-TV.
Several others injured in the shooting were transported to hospitals in private vehicles. The Birmingham Police Department has yet to provide additional information and no arrests have been made. The Five Points South area, known for its numerous entertainment venues, restaurants, and bars, was particularly busy on Saturday night, WBMA reported.
In a statement, Birmingham Officer Truman Fitzgerald emphasized, "We will do everything we possibly can to make sure we uncover, identify and hunt down whoever is responsible for preying on our people this morning."
