Heavy Rains Inundate Taj Mahal Gardens, Surprise Tourists

Heavy rainfall over the past two days has inundated a garden within the Taj Mahal premises, creating a spectacle for visitors. A short video of the flooded garden quickly went viral on social media, sparking curiosity among tourists at the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Shakeel Rafiq, a government-approved tour guide, confirmed that the garden near the central tank in front of the main mausoleum was submerged due to continuous rainfall. ''Tourists were surprised to see water in the garden and captured it on their phones. I explained that the rain caused the waterlogging,'' Rafiq said.
Beyond the Taj Mahal, Agra city has been grappling with severe waterlogging, with major roads flooded and rainwater entering homes. The Agra Nagar Nigam has established a helpline for citizens to lodge complaints about the situation. District Magistrate Bhanu Chandra Goswami has ordered schools to remain closed due to the heavy rainfall.
