Tragic Loss in Bandra: Malaika Arora's Stepfather Allegedly Commits Suicide

The police recorded statements regarding the suspected suicide of Anil Mehta, actor-model Malaika Arora's stepfather, who allegedly jumped off the sixth floor in Bandra. His wife, Joyce, discovered his slippers and heard distress calls, leading to the discovery of his body. Further investigation is underway.

Mumbai Police on Thursday recorded a statement from Joyce, mother of actor-model Malaika Arora, concerning the alleged suicide of Malaika's stepfather Anil Mehta.

Mehta, aged 62, allegedly jumped from the sixth floor of the 'Ayesha Manor' building in Bandra (West) on Wednesday morning, according to the police.

Joyce was in the flat when the incident occurred. In her statement, she revealed she discovered Mehta's slippers in the room and began searching for him before hearing the building's watchman shouting for help. Upon looking down from the balcony, she saw Mehta lying in a pool of blood. The police will also take statements from Malaika and her sister Amrita Arora, alongside the watchman and other eyewitnesses in the coming days.

A preliminary autopsy report indicated that Anil Mehta died from multiple injuries to the head and other organs.
