The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has announced that from Friday, northbound vehicles on the Coastal Road can directly access the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. This new connection will reduce travel time between South Mumbai and the suburbs, improve commuting, and alleviate traffic congestion. The project, costing Rs 14,000 crore, has been gradually made operational since its inception in October 2018.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that vehicles traveling northbound on the Coastal Road can directly enter the Bandra-Worli Sea Link starting this Friday.

BMC officials have revealed that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with his deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, will conduct an inspection of the new link on Thursday afternoon before it officially opens to traffic.

According to a senior civic official, vehicles heading to Bandra from South Mumbai via the Coastal Road will have direct access to the sea link between 7 am and 11 pm. Meanwhile, southbound vehicles will continue using the current route until both arms of the Coastal Road are connected to the sea link.
