In a significant move, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will distribute the second instalment of Rs 1,000 to approximately 45 lakh women under the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana (JMMSY) on the eve of the Karam festival.

The funds will be transferred directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts during a special event at Luguburu-Ghantabari, a religious site in Bokaro district. This follows the first instalment distributed between August 18 and September 4.

To date, 48,15,048 women have registered for the scheme, with 45,36,597 receiving financial assistance. The scheme, initially for women aged 21 to 49, now includes those between 18 and 20 after recent cabinet approval.
