The representatives of the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) convened with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday to discuss the explosive findings of the Justice K Hema Committee report. The report exposes the exploitation and mistreatment of women in the film industry, prompting widespread controversy.

Renowned actors Revathi and Rima Kallingal, screenwriter Deedi Damodaran, and editor Bina Paul Venugopal were among the WCC members who met with the CM at his office in the Secretariat. Following the meeting, Kallingal shared with reporters their aim to bring all stakeholders in the industry together, while withholding further details.

The meeting took place just a day after the Kerala High Court criticized the state's Left government for its 'alarmingly lethargic' response to the Committee's report, which was submitted over four years ago. The court has directed that the full report be handed over to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for necessary action. In response to the report's revelations, the state government has already formed a seven-member SIT to investigate allegations of harassment and exploitation.
