Thousands of students protested in front of Manipur's secretariat and Raj Bhavan demanding action against recent drone and missile attacks. The protests highlighted the need to protect the state's territorial and administrative integrity. At least eight people have died, with over 12 injured in the fresh wave of violence.
The demonstrators chanted slogans such as 'Long Live Manipur' and 'Resign all incompetent MLAs,' expressing frustration with authorities over their handling of the situation. Later, student representatives met Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Governor L Acharya, placing six demands, including the removal of top police officials.
In districts like Thoubal and Kakching, students and locals staged rallies against civilian killings by suspected Kuki militants. They called for the abrogation of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement and urged the state government to take a more proactive role in addressing violence against civilians.
