In a milestone event, Singapore hosted its first-ever Bhojpuri show, reflecting the city's growing Indian cultural footprint. The event was organized by the Bhojpuri Association Singapore (BAS) at the National University of Singapore.

Neeraj Chaturvedi, President of BAS, emphasized the importance of bringing Indian cultural events to Singapore to keep the Indian diaspora connected to their roots. The BAS represents around 10,000 Bhojpuri people living in Singapore.

The show featured members of the Bhojpuri Speaking Union of Mauritius, led by Dr. Sarita Boodhoo, a noted scholar who has significantly contributed to the promotion of the Bhojpuri language. More events are being planned to further elevate Bhojpuri culture on an international stage.
