Maharashtra NCC Contingent Dominates Nau Sainik Camp for Second Consecutive Year

The NCC Directorate Maharashtra contingent has been recognized as the best team in overall performance for the second successive year at the All India Nau Sainik Camp. This prestigious event took place at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, from August 25 to September 5, and saw 612 cadets from 17 directorates participate in various activities.

The NCC Directorate Maharashtra contingent has emerged as the top team for the second consecutive year in the overall performance category at the Nau Sainik Camp, according to a statement from the Defence Ministry on Wednesday.

The prestigious All India Nau Sainik Camp, organized under the aegis of DG NCC, was held at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, from August 25 to September 5. The event saw the participation of 612 cadets representing 17 directorates from across the country. Competitions included boat pulling, rigging, semaphore, service subjects, health and hygiene, and firing.

'The NCC Directorate Maharashtra contingent secured the prestigious trophy and was adjudged the best team for overall performance for the second time in a row,' noted the official release. The camp was inaugurated by Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, Commandant of the National Defence Academy, and DG NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh personally visited the camp to felicitate cadets demonstrating exceptional skills in firing and semaphore. Major General Yogender Singh, from Directorate Maharashtra, lauded it as a tremendous achievement, winning the trophy consecutively for the past two years.
