During the trailer launch of her upcoming film 'The Buckingham Murders', producer Ektaa R Kapoor voiced her concerns about the recent Justice Hema Committee Report, emphasizing the urgent need for more women in leadership positions to foster safer environments. Kapoor addressed the media, stressing that women's safety is a universal issue, not just confined to the film industry.

"Women's safety is not just an industry issue. We take this very seriously. More women must lead so others can follow. Two female producers creating a crime film solved by a female officer is one step towards safety," Kapoor stated. She added that transferring agency from men to women is crucial and with the report out, more efforts will be made to maintain safe workplaces when women lead.

The Justice Hema Committee report revealed alarming details of harassment and exploitation within the Malayalam film industry, naming powerful male figures as perpetrators. The report's disclosure, which concealed names for protection, has stirred significant debate within the industry. The event, graced by director Hansal Mehta and co-producer Kareena Kapoor, also showcased the film's gripping trailer.

Actress Kareena Kapoor stars as a grieving police detective investigating a child's murder in 'The Buckingham Murders', which is set for a September 13 release. The film also features performances by Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen.
