SJTMC Approves Rs 413 Crore Budget, Announces FM Radio for Jagannath Culture
The Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee has approved a Rs 413 crore budget for the financial year 2024-2025, with plans to launch an FM radio station to promote Jagannath culture. Other decisions include the installation of air conditioners, digitizing records, and welfare schemes for temple sevayats.

The Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee (SJTMC) has approved a substantial budget of Rs 413 crore for the 2024-2025 financial year. This decision, alongside the inauguration of a dedicated FM radio station to promote Jagannath culture, signifies a transformative move for the 12th-century temple.
In a meeting headed by Gajapati Maharaja of Puri, Divya Singha Deb, various important measures were decided. The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) highlighted that the total budget would amount to Rs 913 crore, with Rs 500 crore being contributed by the state government. The budget is set to address previous mismanagement concerns and ensure a smooth conduct of rituals and darshan.
PJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee outlined upcoming initiatives, including modernizing the shrine's infrastructure, introducing special queues for women and differently-abled devotees, and launching welfare schemes for temple servitors. Additionally, a continuous focus on infrastructure improvements and digital advancements promises a better experience for devotees.
