Actor Roshan Mathew has shared insights into the intricacies of making career choices in the film industry, highlighting the limitations of traditional metrics like box office success. He stressed that commercial performance doesn't always align with artistic value. Known for his acclaimed roles in Malayalam and Hindi films, Mathew finds that the ideal scenario is when a compelling project he enjoys also achieves financial success.

Mathew, an alum of Drama School Mumbai, began his film career with "Puthiya Niyamam" in 2016 and has since delivered standout performances in movies like "Moothon" and "Darlings." He stated that deciding what projects to pursue involves assessing whether they offer an enriching experience. Stepping outside Malayalam cinema, Mathew seeks roles that present exciting opportunities, stressing the need for work that transcends ethnic and linguistic limitations.

After his notable role in "Darlings," Mathew observed a trend of typecasting offers, which he consciously avoids. He is set to star in the upcoming SonyLIV series "Kan Khajura," a Hindi adaptation of the Israeli crime thriller "Magpie."
