Vinod Kumar Shukla Awarded Sahitya Akademi Fellowship

Eminent Hindi writer Vinod Kumar Shukla received the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship in a ceremony at his Raipur home, attended by Sahitya Akademi dignitaries. Due to health issues, Shukla couldn't receive the highest Akademi honor announced in September 2021 until now. Shukla expressed gratitude for the esteemed recognition.

Raipur, [Date] - Renowned Hindi writer Vinod Kumar Shukla was conferred the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Fellowship at a brief ceremony held at his residence. The award, announced in September 2021, had been delayed due to Shukla's health concerns.

The intimate event saw the presence of Sahitya Akademi president Madhav Kaushik and secretary K Sreenivasarao. Expressing his gratitude, Shukla said, ''I'm thankful to Sahitya Akademi for making it to my place to give me this honour. I never expected to receive such a great honour. I'm very happy to find myself among the distinguished writers who have received Sahitya Akademi Fellowship so far.''

Born on January 1, 1937, in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, Shukla's literary journey began with his poetry collection ''Lagbhag Jai Hind''. Noted for his unique aesthetic sense in poetry and prose, his works include ''Woh Admi Chala Gaya Naya Garam Coat Pahankar Vichar Ki Tarah'', and ''Naukar Ki Kameez.'' With a prolific career comprising 20 published books, Shukla's contributions to Hindi literature have earned him numerous accolades.
