Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the potential of the content creators' economy to generate employment but warned against the pitfalls of creating addictive content. Vaishnaw made these remarks on Thursday while launching the 'Create in India Challenge' which aims to boost various creative disciplines ahead of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in November.

The 'Create in India Challenge' features 25 new challenges in areas such as animation, filmmaking, gaming, music, and visual arts. This initiative is positioned to showcase India's rich cultural heritage and diversity while generating new employment opportunities in the creative sector.

Vaishnaw stressed the responsibility of the government, industry, and society to avoid addictive content. He emphasized the government's dedication to encouraging the creators' economy and underscored the need for talent development and infrastructure advancement. Notable attendees included Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju and FICCI Director General Jyoti Vij.
