Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on an official visit to Poland, solemnly paid his respects on Thursday at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw.

Modi's arrival on Wednesday marks the first visit by an Indian prime minister to Poland in 45 years. Following his visit to Poland, Modi is scheduled to be in Ukraine for around seven hours on Friday to complete the second leg of his two-nation trip.

The Ministry of External Affairs shared photos on social media platform X, stating, ''PM @narendramodi paid his respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw. PM honoured the memory of brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their country. A solemn moment of respect and solidarity.'' The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a monument dedicated to the unidentified soldiers who perished for Poland, is among the most crucial national memorials erected post-World War I.
