Tragic Picnic: Three Family Members Drown in Maharashtra's Savitri River

Three individuals from Mahabaleshwar, including two brothers, drowned in the Savitri river in Maharashtra's Raigad district during a picnic. Local authorities launched a search operation and retrieved the bodies in the evening.

In a tragic incident, three individuals from Mahabaleshwar, identified as Munnawar Shahabuddin Nalband, 38, his brother Dilawar, 28, and their relative Zahid Zakir Patel, 28, drowned in the Savitri river in Maharashtra's Raigad district.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon during a picnic in Mahad. According to police officials, the trio entered the river for a swim but misjudged the depth of the water.

A search and rescue operation was promptly initiated by the local police, and the bodies were recovered in the evening.
