Hollywood star Simu Liu has confirmed that a sequel to his 2021 Marvel superhero film, 'Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings,' is 'definitely happening.'

Liu, the first actor of Asian origin to play a Marvel superhero, starred alongside Hong Kong legend Tony Leung and Awkwafina in the hit film. Despite concerns from fans over the lack of updates, Liu assures that the sequel is on its way, although he cannot reveal specific details.

Liu, 35, is currently starring in 'Jackpot!' with his 'Shang-Chi' co-star Awkwafina. Directed by Paul Feig, the film revolves around Awkwafina's character, who faces mortal danger after winning a lottery due to a rule allowing anyone who kills her to claim the prize. Liu plays Louis Lewis, who befriends Awkwafina's character and John Cena's Noel, with plans to kill them for the money. Liu describes being cast as Shang-Chi as the 'jackpot moment' of his life, likening it to winning the lottery multiple times over.

'Jackpot!' is currently streaming on Prime Video.
