Indian Embassy Disburses Dues to Gorkha Widows, Celebrates Independence Day with Green Initiative

The Indian Embassy in Nepal marked India's 78th Independence Day by disbursing a total of Rs 55 million to the widows and next of kin of deceased Gorkha soldiers who served in the Indian Armed Forces.

India's Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, also distributed Rs 125.5 million under the Army Group Insurance (AGI) programme to 107 beneficiaries, covering death-in-service and extended insurance benefits.

The celebrations included patriotic performances and the planting of saplings in alignment with the 'Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam' initiative to promote environmental sustainability.
