Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG) has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre (TECC) in India on Tuesday. The collaboration aims to bolster cultural and educational exchanges, strengthening bilateral relations between India and Taiwan.

The signing ceremony featured IITG Director Prof Devendra Jalihal and TECC Education Division Director Peters Chen, overseen by the Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India. Prof Jalihal emphasized that this partnership aligns with IITG's mission to offer a global education by incorporating Mandarin language instruction and broadening students' cultural horizons.

Under this MoU, TECC will help IIT Guwahati recruit Mandarin teachers who will provide expert guidance in designing and evaluating foreign language courses. The agreement, valid for three years, also promises to open new academic and industry pathways, particularly in semiconductors, cementing IITG's role as a catalyst in this sector.
