Swedish Prosecutors Close Investigation Into Dutch Eurovision Singer Joost Klein

Swedish prosecutors announced on Monday that they have closed the investigation into Dutch singer Joost Klein, who faced a complaint and subsequent eviction from the Eurovision Song Contest in May.

Klein, 26, was initially a favorite to win with his quirky song 'Europapa' but was embroiled in controversy after an incident with a female production crew member. The Prosecution Authority stated that the quick series of events led to varied witness perceptions.

The investigation concluded that there was no proof of intent or capability to cause serious fear, according to Senior Prosecutor Fredrik Jonsson. The European Broadcasting Union and Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS have yet to respond. AVROTROS expressed disappointment over Klein's disqualification but plans to meet with the EBU. Klein and his team are relieved the case is closed. Swiss rapper Nemo won the contest with 'The Code.'
