Man Found Guilty in Connection with PnB Rock's Murder

A Los Angeles County jury convicted Freddie Trone on Wednesday for his role in the murder of rapper PnB Rock. Trone, 42, was found guilty of murder, robbery, and conspiracy charges, with jurors delivering their verdict after four hours of deliberation. The Philadelphia hip-hop star was killed in September 2022 at a South Los Angeles Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles.

Trone's 17-year-old son, who shot PnB Rock while robbing him of his jewelry, was deemed to have acted under his father's orders, according to the prosecution. The defense, however, maintained that Trone was merely an accessory after the fact. The son is currently held in the juvenile system, considered not competent to stand trial.

Tremont Jones, another man involved, was convicted of robbery and conspiracy but not charged with murder. Both defense attorneys plan to appeal. Trone testified he had no part in the crime, while prosecutors argued that his presence and actions amounted to reckless indifference to human life.
